We started to bring Chloe to the swimming pool when she’s 6mths old. As she grew older, she loved to go swimming. Everytime when Leon was back from work, she would keep asking him to bring her to the swimming pool. As Leon was very busy with his work, he would try to bring her at least once a week.
When I was having my confinement, Leon actually brought her to the swimming pool almost everyday and she was so excited. Even school teacher asked her about what was her hobby, she said it was swimming 🙂
So, we applied swimming class for her and she was so happy.
1st day of Lesson
Chloe doing stretching exercises…
(Subsequently from 2nd lesson onwards, the instructor didn’t ask them to do the stretching exercise already??! )
The swimming instructor, Gavin, teaching her to use the legs to kick.
Brought Chloe into the pool to swim a short distance. Chloe happily kicking but legs not doing it correctly and Gavin was trying to correct her.
After a short distance, Chloe was brought back to wait for her turn.
As there were total of 5 students, Chloe needed to wait patiently for her turn… She kept complaining that she was cold while waiting…
The little gal, Tabitha was talking to her while waiting for her turn too 🙂
Chloe turned back and saw mummy and gave mummy a nice pose “Hooray!”
After swimming, we went to the mini cafeteria for hot milo and fishballs. Taking pics of papa & Clara 🙂 Cheers!!!
BUT….. In the end, after the 3rd lessons, Chloe refused to learn because the swimming instructor wanted her to blow bubbles and to immerse her head into the water. She kept crying and screaming for us while in the pool. This dragged for the next 3 lessons till the 6th lesson, we decided to switch her from basic beginner class to toddler class which need a parent participation. This class is to increase the toddler confidence in the pool esp under the water.
Because of the timing, Leon will be the one that accompany her for the lesson. While I’m at home looking after Clara. After 3 lessons of toddler classes, Leon feedback to me that we can actually do it ourselves with her in the pool as the instructor only teaching the parent to splash water onto their head, making them jump into the pool etc…
The swimming lessons going to finish soon by end Oct, we intend to stop if Chloe still refuse to immerse her head in the water. Maybe we need to wait till she’s older and more confidence b4 bringing her to learn swimming again.
